What should I bring to my lesson?

Your drivers permit, yellow logbook and enclosed shoes. Payment is required prior to commencing a lesson.

What car will I drive during my lessons?

An insured and training approved Hyundai i30 with automatic transition, fitted with dual controls. A great car for new drivers!

How much do lessons cost?

The cost will depend on abilty and experience, but the VORT system allows the opportunity to get your P’s at a greatly reduced costs.

How long does a lesson last?

All lessons are individually tailored to suit the needs of each driver. Lessons range from 1 – 2 hours depending on traffic conditions, location and driver confidence.

How many lessons will I need?

Most students require 5 – 8 lessons to reach a testing standard, and also to feel confident to navigate the roads without instruction.

Can I book more than one lesson at a time?

4 x lesson packs are available at a reduced bulk price.

How do I pay for lessons?

ILDrive accepts credit cards (VISA, Mastercard, AMEX & Debit), cash or bank transfer prior to the lesson. Card payment available on the day.

Can I get picked up from school and dropped off at home?

Yes! Start and finish locations can be decided by you*. Each lesson begins when you get behind the wheel and does not include instructor travel times.
* modified drop off locations require prior parental agreement for drivers under 18 years of age.

Do you charge extra for weekends or holidays?

No, bookings are available 7 days a week at no extra charge.

How much does a driving test cost?

ILDrive provides training to reach a testing standard. The final driving test is at an additional fee of $260, which includes $160 for the test fee and $100 for a warm up lesson with Ian prior to commencing the test with an external testing officer (booked through ILDrive). The test is completed in the ILDrive training vehicle.
